Qualifications

• Must hold an active Iowa RN license and have RN background.
• BSN preferred with nursing experience and state credentialing may be required.
• Experience teaching is desirable and completion of Nurse Aide Teacher Trainer course is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and utilize the state of Iowa CNA, Medication Manager, and other curriculum as assigned, as mandated.
• Assist to create curriculum, outlines and student resources for new course development.
• Teach assigned classes (lecture, lab & clinical) following state mandates, in Council Bluffs and other Iowa Western Centers as needed.
• Prepare supplies as needed, for all classes at assigned locations.
• Maintain the course records or testing records, to comply with campus, state, and federal regulations.
• Coach students during record check evaluations with the Department of Human Services if needed.
• Implement successful promotion and evaluation of all courses.
• Maintain all course policies, attendance, grades, and skills records required by the college, the Department of Education and the Department of Inspections, Appeals & Licensure.
• Assist with mentoring new instructors.
