Location: Iowa Falls, IA

Rate of Pay: $35/hour

Schedule: Tuesday and Thursdays from 8am-10am

Summary:This position is ideal for experienced nurses who want to teach Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and other short-term healthcare courses. Classes are currently scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for nine months of the year, providing a predictable and manageable commitment. Instructors also have the flexibility to add additional classes if desired. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who want to share their expertise and make a meaningful impact without the demands of a full-time role.

Job Duties

• Teach CNA and related courses in accordance with approved course outlines and DIA (Department of Inspections and Appeals) requirements.
• Provide CNA clinical instruction in local long-term care facilities.
• Deliver content using a variety of instructional methods and technologies (in-person, online, and hybrid).
• Develop and maintain course syllabi and materials.
• Maintain accurate student and course records to meet state and federal standards.
• Coordinate with the Health Education Coordinator to schedule classes based on instructor availability and program needs.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development activities as appropriate.
• Provide mentorship for new instructors when needed.
• Maintain a clean and professional instructional environment
• Supports the overall success of the District by performing other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:Graduate of an approved School of Nursing with active RN licensure in Iowa or a compact state (or ability to obtain).Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field preferred.Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse.At least 1 year of full-time employment in long-term care strongly preferred but not required.Teaching or training experience preferred.

Certifications and Licenses:Registered nurse in Iowa or a compact state or the ability to obtain one. CPR and Dependent/Chip abuse certification.
