Job summary

Northeast Iowa Community College is seeking a contractual CNA adjunct instructor to deliver hands‑on nursing assistant education across classroom, lab, and clinical settings. The role includes supervising CNA students in a long‑term care facility and upholding CNA program procedures and policies.

Candidates must hold an Iowa RN license or multi‑state compact license and have at least two years of RN or LPN experience, with one year in long‑term care.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Iowa RN license or multi‑state license.
• Minimum of two years RN or LPN experience, at least one year in long‑term care.
• Experience teaching adults and/or nurse aides is preferred.
• Certification or enrollment in a “Train the Trainer” class required on accepting the Adjunct Instructor position.
• Background check and clinical compliance as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Instruct in the laboratory setting to introduce and reinforce hands‑on learning of clinical skills.
• Supervise CNA students in a long‑term care facility, reinforcing hands‑on learning and professional behaviors.
• Follow CNA program policies and procedures.
• Prepare and submit student records and class materials in a timely manner.
• Comply with HIPAA and FERPA and other federal regulations.
• Deliver instruction using diverse modalities to meet student needs in classroom, lab, and clinical sites.
• Monitor and record student attendance and skill competencies.
• Communicate effectively with NICC Health program team and CNA Program Coordinators.
