Job summary

Des Moines Area Community College is seeking an Adjunct Nursing Instructor for Fall Semester 2026 to teach various nursing courses at campus locations in IA. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Nursing, 3 years clinical teaching-related experience, BCLS certification, and Iowa RN license or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• 3 years clinical work experience related to teaching assignment.
• BCLS certification.
• Iowa RN license or ability to obtain prior to start of employment.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals.
• Master’s degree in Nursing (or current enrollment in a graduate Nursing program).
• Teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi.
• Develops and/or utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students.
• Fosters a safe and civil learning environment.
• Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies.
• Monitors, evaluates, and documents student attendance, progress and competency attainment.
