Job summary

Atrium Health seeks a nurse leader to support the manager in enhancing nursing practice, care delivery, and service administration within the department. You will interview and supervise nursing staff, coordinate shift communications, and participate in rounds to gauge patient care and team performance.

Coordinate staffing and patient flow, delegate tasks, monitor outcomes, and ensure compliance with federal/state laws and policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• BSN required; enrollment in BSN program acceptable within 1 year and completion within 3 years.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• Additional education, training or certifications may be required within the department.

Responsibilities

• Supports the manager in interviewing, selecting, and supervising nursing personnel.
• Assists with coordination of communication via staff meetings/huddles.
• Collaborates to ensure understanding and compliance with federal/state laws and policies.
• Rounds on patients, teammates, and physicians to assess satisfaction and care quality.
• Delegates care tasks to appropriate healthcare workers per policy.
• Assists in identifying outcomes to direct continuity of care and department operations.
• Evaluates progress toward goals and shares updates with the care team.
• Performs nursing care, assists with treatments and medications as needed.
• Coordinates patient flow and staffing through continuous assessment of volume and acuity.
