Atrium Health is seeking an experienced Nursing Manager to lead clinical staff across units, ensuring compliant, high-quality patient care while maintaining a positive work environment.

The role emphasizes staff supervision, policy interpretation, partnership with nurse leaders and administrators, and proactive coordination of admissions, discharges, and daily operations to optimize patient flow and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• Two years nursing experience preferred.
• BSN required.
• RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN must enroll in a BSN program within 1 year of hire/transfer and complete within 3 years of enrollment.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• CPI certification required within 90 days of hire date.
• Appropriate professional certification (clinical or leadership) within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Communicates administrative problems and actions to the nurse leader, Administrator-On-Call when appropriate, and other senior leaders.
• Guides staff in understanding and compliance with state and federal laws, Nursing Practice Act, and company policies.
• Assists with coordination of communication at regular intervals throughout shifts via huddles, rounds, or meetings.
• Assists with appropriate utilization of resources to meet patient care needs.
• Supervises nursing personnel, identifies problems, initiates corrective action, and communicates findings to managers.
• Provides advice and assistance to nurses in administering new or unusual treatments or medications, interprets policies.
• Coordinates shift management of patient flow including admissions/transfers with interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitors staffing for current and upcoming shifts using Float Pool and PRN personnel.
