Job summary

Genesis HealthCare in Alabama is seeking a Nurse Educator to orient and educate nursing staff in our long-term care center, ensuring safe, effective patient care aligned with federal, state, and facility policies.

You will report to the Director of Nursing, develop education programs, supervise new hires during orientation, conduct annual competency reviews, and oversee Employee Health activities to protect staff health.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred.
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills required.
• Experience in Gerontology preferred.
• Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursing center.
• Ensure safe, effective nursing care according to guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Report to the Director of Nursing.
• Develop education programs in response to staff needs and teach current practices.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees during orientation.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluate staff performance.
