Job summary
Genesis is seeking a Nurse Educator to orient and educate nursing personnel within our long-term care center, ensuring safe and effective patient care in line with federal, state, and facility guidelines.
The role reports to the Director of Nursing, develops education programs, oversees staff orientation, conducts competency testing, and supports an Employee Health program, with a comprehensive benefits package for eligible staff.
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
- Three years minimum full-time or equivalent clinical experience.
- Two years in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred.
- Experience in gerontology and adult learning preferred.
Responsibilities
- Orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursing center.
- Ensure safe, effective nursing care per guidelines and procedures.
- Report to the Director of Nursing and develop education programs.
- Supervise and monitor new nursing staff during orientation.
- Perform annual competency testing and evaluate staff performance.
