Job summary

Genesis HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a Nurse Educator to orient and educate nursing staff in our long-term care facilities.

You will ensure safe, effective nursing care in compliance with federal, state, and facility guidelines and will develop targeted education programs to meet staff needs. You will report to the Director of Nursing, supervise orientation for new hires, conduct annual competency assessments, and support the Employee Health Program including TB/hepatitis vaccines and influenza

Qualifications

• Must have a nursing degree and a current RN license.
• Experience developing and delivering education programs for nursing staff.
• Strong clinical nursing skills and excellence in patient care.
• Experience in gerontology preferred.
• Training or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursing center and ensure safe, effective care per guidelines.
• Report to the Director of Nursing.
• Develop education programs addressing staff needs and current practices.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees during orientation.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluate staff performance for education needs.
• Oversee Employee Health Program, TB/hepatitis vaccination tracking and influenza immunizations.
