Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Connecticut is seeking Experienced Registered Nurses for night shifts, every other weekend, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with rotating holidays. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess patients and their needs to provide individualized care.
• Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel consistent with their education and expertise.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds and provides input to achieve outcomes.
