Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT, is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 32-hour evening shift (3pm-11:30pm). This role provides direct nursing care within established policies and coordinates care with multiple disciplines to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient condition appropriately.
• Serves as primary coordinator of care across disciplines.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Coordinates discharge planning with the healthcare team.
• Assesses patient needs to provide individualized care.
• Delegates care as appropriate to nursing staff.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
• Develops and revises plans of care.
• Pursues professional growth activities.
