Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for night shift coverage on an every other weekend schedule with 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license and BLS certification.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient status.
• Acts as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated care.
• Follows physician and nursing orders and coordinates discharge planning.
• Assesses patient needs to provide individualized care considering physical, psychosocial, cultural and age-related factors.
• Delegates care to nursing staff to maximize performance while ensuring safety.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds and contributes input for outcomes.
• Abides by ANA standards and ethics; develops and revises care plans.
• Engages in professional growth activities outside direct patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
