Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 36-hour day/evening rotating shift in Connecticut. Positions may include 3-12 hour shifts or combinations, with every other weekend and holiday.

The role focuses on direct patient care, coordination with care teams, and adherence to standards of nursing practice. Nurse Residency and benefits support are provided to staff afteremployment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care per policies and protocols.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient status.
• Coordinates care with multidisciplinary team.
• Follows physician and nursing orders accurately.
• Assists with discharge planning and patient education.
• Identifies and addresses physical, psychosocial, cultural and age-related needs.
• Delegates tasks to appropriate nursing staff.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary rounds and contributes input.
