Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Connecticut is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 36-hour day/evening rotating position. The role includes 3-12 hour shifts or 1-12 hour and 3-8 hour shifts, with every other weekend and holiday.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; documents patient condition and communicates changes.
• Serves as primary coordinator of disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Noted and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the health care team.
• Delivers individualized care addressing physical, psychosocial, cultural and age-related needs.
• Delegates tasks to other nursing personnel to maximize staff performance.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds and contributes input for desired outcomes.
