Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Connecticut is seeking an experienced RN for night shift work on an every-other-weekend rotation with 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM hours and rotating holidays.

You will provide direct nursing care, coordinate care with multiple disciplines, and ensure discharge planning needs are met while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care. Qualified candidates hold an accredited nursing degree, CT RN license, BLS certification, and demonstrate strong assessment

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred
• Current Connecticut RN license
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient condition to the team.
• Acts as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Delivers individualized care to meet physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and age-related needs.
