Job summary

Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital in northwest Iowa seeking a registered nurse to provide comprehensive inpatient care. You will apply the nursing process for post-operative and acute care patients, ensure quality outcomes, and collaborate with the team to deliver total patient care.

Strong communication, flexibility, and multitasking are essential. An Iowa RN license (or compact) is required, with BLS/ACLS available upon hire.

Qualifications

• Must be a caring communicator with flexible and multitasking abilities.
• Must hold an RN license valid in IA or a compact state.
• In-house BLS and ACLS certifications available or required at hire.
• New grads encouraged to apply with Nurse Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care using the nursing process for postoperative and acute hospital patients.
• Maintain responsibility for nursing care outcomes during assigned shifts.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver total patient care.
• Follow age-appropriate patient protocols for physical and psychological needs.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care for post-operative and acute care patients requiring hospitalization
• Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period
• Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care
• Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients

Requirements

• Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems
• IA RN license or compact state
• BLS and ACLS - inhouse certification available upon hire
• New grads encouraged to apply - Nurse Residency Program upon hire!

Schedule

• 72 hours a pay period. 12 hour shifts. Straight Nights. Holidays. Weekends
• The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
