Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a Day Shift Registered Nurse for a full-time Med/Surg position. The RN will coordinate patient care using the Parkland nursing professional practice model and collaborate with the health care team to ensure safe patient transitions.

The role requires a graduate of an accredited nursing program, at least two years of nursing experience (acute care preferred), and a current RN license (Texas BON or Compact) with active BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have two years of nursing experience, acute care preferred.
• Must hold current RN license (Texas BON or Compact) and valid BLS certification.
• Maintain current nursing licensure and comply with applicable rules.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care using the nursing process and act as patient advocate.
• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; document accurately.
• Delegate interventions to health care personnel per the Texas Nursing Practice Act and competencies.
• Serve as a preceptor or rotation as Charge Nurse; participate in education.
• Maintain compliance with regulations, infection control, safety, and care standards.
• Collaborate with the health care team and communicate with patients and families.
