HSHS Medical Group in Springfield, IL is seeking an Assistant Manager-Nursing for Med Surg, onsite and full time on night shift. Under Nursing leadership, you will assist in oversight of unit operations, hire and transfer staff, and drive performance improvement while developing workflows and protocols.

The ideal candidate is an RN with at least 2 years of acute care experience, leadership or charge nurse experience preferred, and a valid RN license.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program and licensed as an RN in state of practice.
• 2 years RN experience in an acute setting required; 2 years as charge/lead nurse preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS may be required where necessary.
• 2 years staff RN experience in an acute setting required.
• 2 years as charge nurse/lead nurse or related leadership role preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS may be required where necessary.

Responsibilities

• Oversee unit/department operations and patient care.
• Assist in hiring, transferring, and staff performance improvement.
• Develop workflows and protocols; supervise unit staff; champion patient care.
• Assist in direct supervision of unit staff.
• Collaborate with care team providers to ensure excellence in patient care.
