Job summary

HSHS Medical Group is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the General OR at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. The role leads nursing staff, helps develop workflows, and ensures high-quality patient care in a fast-paced operating room environment.

The position requires IL RN licensure, a BSN is preferred, and a minimum of two years in acute care with leadership experience. BLS is required; ACLS may be necessary for certain duties. Evening shift with occasional weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher required for licensure in the state of practice; RN licensure in IL required.
• BSN preferred for this leadership role.
• Two years RN experience in an acute setting is required.
• Two years in a charge/lead nurse or related role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee unit/department operations, patient care, and staffing.
• Develop workflows, protocols, and operational reports for the General OR.
• Assist in hiring, transferring, and performance improvement activities.
• Collaborate with care team providers to ensure excellence in patient care.
