HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL is seeking an Assistant Manager-Nursing to support nursing leadership. The role includes serving as charge nurse on night shifts, overseeing patient care and staff, and developing unit workflows.

The position requires RN licensure and BSN is preferred. Two 12-hour night shifts as charge nurse plus two 8-hour administrative days with flexible shifts ensure a balanced schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program and licensure in state of practice.
• RN licensure in state of practice required.
• 2 years staff nurse experience in an acute setting.
• 2 years in a charge/lead nurse or related position preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS may be required where necessary.

Responsibilities

• Oversee unit and department patient care and staffing.
• Develop workflows and timely operational reports.
• Supervise unit staff and assign duties.
• Collaborate with care team to assure excellence in patient care.
