This RN Medsurg role is on our Oncology Unit at Cobb Hospital.

Schedule: 7pm-7am, 36 hours/week.

Job Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team ensuring high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in an environment supported by Nurse Managers and leadership, guided by the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, Professional Practice Model, and evidence-based practices. RN competencies are aligned with these models and Wellstar Values.

All RN Clinical Nurses must be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the nursing practice standards as per the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics. They uphold patient advocacy, system policies, and service excellence.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Perform nursing assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence-based practice.
• Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care tailored to individual and cultural needs.
• Partner with patients and families, utilizing methods like bedside reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient education.
• Practice according to current clinical standards.
• Coordinate safe and quality care, ensuring effective communication and documentation.
• Demonstrate teamwork, support performance improvement, and participate in shared governance.
• Complete professional competencies and serve as preceptor or mentor.
• Promote evidence-based practice and participate in research activities.
• Support resource management and participate in protocol development.
• Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to policies and standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
• Current RN license in Georgia or multi-state Compact.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• Less than 1 year of clinical experience preferred; completion of nursing program with clinical hours required.
