Job Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team ensuring high-quality, safe patient care. They practice within a clinical environment supported by Nurse Managers, the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, and guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice. RN competencies are aligned with these models and the Wellstar Values.

All RN Clinical Nurses must be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the standards outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, the Scope of Practice, and the Code of Ethics by the American Nurses Association. They must advocate for the patient, adhere to system policies, and support service excellence goals.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Perform nursing processes (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking, ensuring individualized care.
• Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care respecting cultural diversity.
• Partner with patients and significant others using effective communication and teaching methods, focusing on patient goals.
• Practice according to current clinical standards.
