This RN Medsurg role is on our Oncology Unit at Cobb Hospital.

Schedule: 7pm-7am, 36-hour week.

Job Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team ensuring high-quality, safe patient care. They work in a clinical environment supported by Nurse Managers and the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practices. RN competencies are aligned with these models and Wellstar Values.

All RN Clinical Nurses must be licensed, knowledgeable, and adhere to the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, the Scope of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics. They uphold patient advocacy, system policies, and service excellence.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Perform the Nursing Process with evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and individualized care.
• Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care respecting cultural diversity.
• Partner with patients and families, utilizing effective communication and teaching methods.
• Practice according to current clinical standards.
• Coordinate safe, quality care through interdisciplinary communication and documentation.

Minimum Education & Certifications

• Associates or Bachelors in Nursing (preferred).
• RN license (single state or multi-state compact).
• BLS certification (instructor preferred).

Experience & Skills

• Less than 1 year of clinical experience required; completion of accredited nursing program with clinical hours is required.
• Direct patient care experience is preferred.
• Entry level, full-time position.
