Boston Medical Center (BMC) is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical unit in Boston. The role offers 36 hours per week with nights and every other weekend, supporting a Magnet-recognized organization dedicated to equity and high-quality care.

You will work on 4 West, a 46-bed surgical unit, focusing on diverse post-operative care. BMC emphasizes professional growth, training, and interdisciplinary teamwork for staff development.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
• Certification in basic life support (BLS).
• ACLS certification required in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred).
• Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC's nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team in quality improvement projects.
