Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg - Orthopedics Unit. The role offers a 36-hour schedule (nights, every other weekend/holiday) in a Magnet-recognized organization.

As a pivotal member of a 37-bed surgical unit, you will provide patient-centered care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in quality improvement initiatives within a supportive environment that fosters professional growth.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as an RN in Massachusetts.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Fluency in another language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and their families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by Boston Medical Center Nursing organization.
• Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
