Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a RN Med Surg Tele PRN to cover night shifts (7:00pm–7:00am) with rotating weekends. The role emphasizes high-quality, patient-centered care within established nursing models and collaboration with the care team to drive positive outcomes.

You will assess patients on admission and during shifts, administer medications, educate families, and document thoroughly. This PRN position supports our hospital’s commitment to excellence in patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
• Associate's Degree okay to start; Bachelors Degree required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Current RN license in the State of TX or compact license.
• Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
• 1 year acute care experience in area/unit highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient’s condition during admission and each shift; promptly identify and report changes in status.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor therapeutic response; document care in the medical record.
• Provide prompt, compassionate care and respond to patient requests; anticipate needs.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about condition, treatment plan, medications, and follow-up measures; translate medical terminology as needed.
