Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med Surg Tele in a PRN night shift capacity (7:00pm - 7:00am) with rotating weekends. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, collaborate with physicians, and serve as a patient advocate within established nursing models.

Responsibilities include assessment, documentation, medication administration, timely responses to needs, and patient-family education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
• Associate's Degree okay to start, Bachelors Degree required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Current RN license in the State of TX or compact license.
• Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
• 1 year acute care experience in area/unit highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

Education

Associate's Degree (AS) okay to start

Bachelor's Degree within 24 months

Current RN license in TX or compact

Current BLS card (AHA or Red Cross)

1 year acute care experience preferred
