Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced RN for the 9A Medical-Surgical unit. The role emphasizes teamwork with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, and families to deliver safe, high-quality care. The unit serves medically complex patients with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio (occasional 1:6).

A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for External applicants with commitment. The position requires BLS within 30 days, an Illinois RN license, and a HS diploma or GED with an Associate’s degree.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA)
• Licensed RN in Illinois (IDFPR)
• HS Diploma/GED; Associate’s Degree

Responsibilities

• Performs unit-specific nursing duties and adheres to scope of service.
• Implements care plans and nursing interventions with the team.
• Completes initial assessments and plans of care on admission.
• Maintains documentation to ensure accurate patient information.
• Ensures patient safety, communication, and interprofessional collaboration.
• Delivers medications using the 5 Rights.
