Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 9A Medical-Surgical unit. The unit has 24 beds and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 (occasionally 1:6). The role emphasizes teamwork with providers, families, therapists, and pharmacists to deliver safe, high-quality care.

Sign-on bonus of $10,000 applies to external applicants with a 3-year commitment. BLS is required within 30 days of hire and an Illinois RN license or eligibility is noted in qualifications.

Qualifications

• Nurse must be a licensed RN with current state licensure.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience on a medical-surgical unit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs unit-based nursing duties as defined by scope of service.
• Completes initial patient assessments and develops care plans.
• Implements plan of care and nursing interventions.
• Maintains accurate documentation for care coordination.
• Communicates with care team and delegates tasks to HCAs.
