Job summary

Steward Health Care is seeking a Medical Surgical RN to lead nursing care on the Med Surg unit, directing, planning, and organizing activities to meet patient, physician, and staff needs. The RN provides care under Medical Staff direction, aligned with the hospital's mission and objectives.

This role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, current Louisiana RN license, BLS within 30 days, and ACLS/PALS within 90 days, with other certs to follow as required.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana Nursing License in good standing.
• BLS required within 30 days upon hire; ACLS and PALS due within 90 days.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Surgical RN is responsible and accountable for directing, planning, and organizing the nursing activities on the Med Surg unit with a focus on patient, physician and staff needs. The Registered Nurse supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the mission and objectives of the Hospital.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Louisiana Nursing License in good standing
• Previous clinical nursing experience is desired.
• BLS required within 30 days upon hire.
• All other certifications due within 90 days of hire date, i.e., ACLS, PALS
