Job summary

Steward Health Care seeks a Medical Surgical RN to direct, plan and organize nursing activities on the Med Surg unit, focusing on patient, physician and staff needs. The RN supports medical care under the direction of the Medical Staff in alignment with the hospital's mission and objectives.

The position requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, active Louisiana license, and certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS) within specified timeframes, with prior clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS required within 30 days upon hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required within 90 days of hire.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Surgical RN is responsible and accountable for directing, planning, and organizing the nursing activities on the Med Surg unit with a focus on patient, physician and staff needs. The Registered Nurse supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the mission and objectives of the Hospital.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Louisiana Nursing License in good standing
• Previous clinical nursing experience is desired.
• BLS required within 30 days upon hire.
• All other certifications due within 90 days of hire date, i.e., ACLS, PALS
