Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking an experienced MDS Coordinator to oversee the nursing components of the RAI MDS, HCFA Medicare, DADS and RMHP programs. The role includes screening for skilled care, admissions, nursing documentation, MDS scheduling, and RUG assignment in coordination with the interdisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate is a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse, licensed in the state, with long-term care and Medicare knowledge, strong leadership, and a commitment to high quality

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse and licensed in the state of employment.
• Experience in long-term care and Medicare is preferred.
• Ability to lead and manage, with strong collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work weekends and be flexible.
• Must pass TB test/screening and maintain background checks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Medicare MDS, RUGs, and MDS scheduling across disciplines.
• Screen admissions and pre-screen potential patients for skilled care.
• Ensure nursing documentation for Medicare and MDS coding is complete.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and family to plan care.
• Manage MDS timelines, encoding, editing, and transmission.
