Job summary

Life Care Center of Cheyenne is seeking a registered nurse to serve as MDS Coordinator. The role coordinates MDS Assessments, CCAs and Care Plans in accordance with CMS RAI regulations and Life Care standards.

The RN provides staff education on regulatory updates and ensures timely documentation and billing readiness. The position requires an active RN license, 2 years of nursing experience, and preferably geriatric experience.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Geriatric nursing experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge in field of practice and post-acute care.
• Familiarity with CMS RAI manual, laws, regulations.
• Ability to implement department policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with Life Care standards.
• Follow Life Care’s Code of Conduct and mandatory trainings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate submission of MDS Assessments, CCAs, and Care Plans per CMS RAI.
• Educate direct care staff on CMS RAI Manual updates affecting documentation.
• Review Interdisciplinary Comprehensive Care Plans.
• Review Final Validation Reports and ensure CMS QIES submissions are ready for billing.
• Identify late or missing assessments via CMS reports and improve processes.
• Perform staff nurse functions as needed.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a positive patient attitude.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English.
