Job summary

The Cypress of Charlotte in Charlotte, NC is seeking a full-time RN/LPN Float to provide direct nursing care across shifts (2nd and 3rd) and supervise Quality-of-Life Specialists/Resident Assistants.

You will count narcotics, administer medications, document MARs, apply treatments, and communicate with families and physicians as resident conditions change. A compassionate team environment and generous benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

  • Must hold valid NC or compact LPN/RN license.
  • Minimum 3 months’ experience as LPN/RN, preferably elderly care.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
  • Ability to observe changes in resident’s condition and act accordingly.
  • Ability to supervise staff and maintain good working relationships among personnel.
  • Ability to cooperate with other health professionals and to coordinate efforts toward maximum resident care.
  • Ability to recognize problems, make decisions and solve problems.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in emergency situation.

Responsibilities

  • Pass medications, documenting on MAR, and notifies Director of Nursing of any incomplete documentation.
  • Apply treatments, lotions, dressings, etc. as needed, documenting in treatment record.
  • Document on residents per protocol.
  • Notify family and physicians of change in resident condition and as necessary.
  • Monitor dining room during meals, ensuring all necessary staff are present.
  • Replenish supplies for the medicine cart, medicine room and resident rooms. If there is a shortage, orders through central supply personnel.

Job description

Position: RN/LPN, Full-Time Float
Schedule
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM The position may also be required to provide PRN coverage across all three shifts as needed.
Pay
  • Pay Range RN $38.00 - $42.77 per hour depending on experience plus shift differential
  • Pay Range LPN: $30.00 - $33.26 per hour depending on experience plus shift differential

Position Summary

This position provides direct nursing care to residents and delegates and supervises the care provided by our Quality-of-Life Specialists/Resident Assistants.

  • Monitor dining room during meals, ensuring all necessary staff are present.

  • Minimum of 3 months’ experience as a LPN/RN preferably with elderly care.

  • Ability to demonstrate understanding, patience, tact and courtesy in dealing with employees, residents, family, visitors and volunteers.
  • Ability to supervise staff and maintain good working relationships among personnel.
  • Ability to cooperate with other health professionals and to coordinate efforts toward maximum resident care.
  • Ability to recognize problems, make decisions and solve problems.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in emergency situation.
