Job summary

The Cypress of Charlotte is hiring a CNA for full-time 2nd shift (3pm - 11:00pm) in Charlotte, NC. You will provide direct resident care, assist with activities of daily living, dining services, and documentation, while engaging residents in meaningful activities.

A valid NC CNA license and CPR/First Aid certification are required, with a minimum of two years' experience in geriatrics or skilled nursing preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid NC CNA license and CNA training completion.
• Two years of experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting preferred.
• Proficiency in documenting care and vital signs.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English instructions.
• First Aid/CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Respond promptly to call lights and requests for assistance.
• Assist with meal service, tray distribution, and eating as needed.
• Document ADL flow records, bowel/bladder function, intake/output.
• Obtain vitals and assist with admission orientation.
• Maintain clean and organized resident rooms and equipment.
• Provide range of motion exercises and dementia-friendly activities.
• Support cognitive engagement and reminiscence activities.

Pay Range: $19.00-$21.38 per hour depending on experience, plus shift differential: $2.00 Mon-Fri and $3.00 Sat & Sun.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including toileting, bathing, shaving, and dressing, brushing hair, brushing teeth and dentures, placing hearing aids, placing dentures, and placing glasses.
• Respond promptly to all call lights and requests for assistance from residents.
• Assist with meal services, including distribution of trays, set up of tray, assistance with eating, responding to special requests or requests for additional items, and distribution of snack cart items.
• Properly document all ADL flow records, bowel, and bladder function, repositioning sheets, sign-out sheets, meal intake, intake, and output sheets.
• Obtain resident vitals and weight upon admission as well as provide a general introduction and orientation to new members.
• Maintain resident rooms in a manner that is clean and orderly, including making the bed, marking and keeping personal toiletries in the medicine cabinet on the appropriate shelf, maintaining a clear floor, placing clothing in the appropriate wardrobe, maintaining a clean overbed table and removing all soiled linens from the room.
• Provide range of motion for all assigned residents per guidelines and maintain documentation.
• Assist with activities as it relates to the cognitive ability and enjoyment of a dementia resident.
• Engage the resident in reminiscence activities.

Qualifications:

• Valid NC CNA license and completion of training course.
• First Aid/CPR certified.
• Minimum two years of experience.
• Experience in skilled nursing facilities, geriatrics, and with Dementia and Alzheimer\'s preferred.
• Ability to observe changes in a resident’s condition and to act as required for the resident’s total care.
• Demonstrate understanding, patience, tact, respect, and courtesy in dealing with residents, family, and visitors.
• Proficient skills and knowledge of CNA duties and responsibilities.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.
