Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a busy women’s health unit. The role involves coordinating care with physicians and other disciplines, following established policies and procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Three 12-hour shifts with weekend/holiday variability and on-call 12-24 hours per six-week schedule; on-site parking and access to residency and tuition support programs.

Qualifications

• Must have labor and delivery experience.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Two years of Medical-Surgical/Critical Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans; records and communicates patient condition.
• Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Provides individualized care addressing physical, psychosocial, cultural and age-related needs.
