Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a high-acuity unit. The role requires an RN with a CT license, BLS, and labor/delivery experience; BSN preferred and ADN acceptable with qualifications.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current CT RN license.
BLS certification required at time of employment.
Experience in labor and delivery or high-acuity units preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care following policies and protocols.
Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth flow.
Document patient conditions, orders and care plans accurately.
Assess discharge needs and plan appropriately with the healthcare team.
Deliver individualized care addressing physical, psychosocial, cultural and age-related needs.
Delegate tasks to nursing staff per education and scope.
Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds and provide input.
Adhere to ANA standards and ethics in all patient care.
Develop and revise care plans; engage in professional development.
