Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport is seeking an RN with labor and delivery experience to join our team in a three 12-hour shift schedule. On-call coverage is required as needed. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities to advance within a Magnet-designated hospital.

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with CT RN license and BLS certification is required; BSN is preferred. Join us to care for our community while supporting your own professional growth.

Qualifications

• Labor and delivery experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Two years of Medical-Surgical/Critical Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Coordinates care as primary liaison for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the care team.
• Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel as appropriate.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds and contributes to care outcomes.
• Adheres to ANA standards and ethics in practice.
• Develops and revises individualized plans of care.
• Engages in professional growth activities and other duties as assigned.
