Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT, seeks a nurse to provide direct patient care in accordance with hospital policies. Three 12-hour shifts from 7p to 7:30a with on-call as needed are offered.

New grads may enroll in the Nurse Residency Program upon hire. Graduate nurses with an Associate degree or BSN preferred will join a Magnet-designated hospital that offers tuition reimbursement, loan forgiveness, and extensive wellness programs.

Qualifications

• Must have labor and delivery experience.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required, BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Two years of Medical-Surgical/Critical Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Provides individualized care considering physical, psychosocial, cultural and age-related needs.
• Delegates care to other nursing staff as appropriate.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
• Aligns practice with ANA standards and ethics.
• Develops and revises individualized plans of care.
• Participates in professional growth activities.
