Johns Hopkins Intrastaff, the internal staffing agency for the Johns Hopkins Health System, seeks a Specialty Nurse at Sibley Memorial Hospital (Washington, DC) with DC license. Must hold Maryland license or compact state license, CPR, and have at least 2 years of recent labor and delivery/postpartum nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Current registered nurse license in the state of Maryland, or licensed in a compact state.
• Current CPR certification.
• At least 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery or Post Partum nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating and coordination of programs that may include hospital inpatients, outpatients, families, community, and employees of both the hospital and the university by providing evidence-based care based on the nursing process, policies, procedures, and protocols of the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
• Providing direction to/management of other team members to promote quality, safety, and excellence in care.
• Working collaboratively with, and providing leadership for, a multidisciplinary health care team to support program initiatives that support quality, safety, and excellence in care.
• Participating in promoting and identifying quality improvement initiatives (clinical, financial, operational) that supports, protects and promotes area of specialty.
• Initiating and participate in the research activities relevant to specialty area.
• Implementing initiatives in area of specialty as directed by nursing and medical leadership.
• Fostering a clinical environment of service excellence.

The Specialty Nurse practices as an expert in the application of the nursing process and theory within a specialty area. The primary responsibility of the Specialty Nurse is to advance patient care directly in the role of expert clinical practitioner and patient educator; and indirectly in the roles of educator and consultant.

Schedule: Contract 13 weeks

Location: Sibley Memorial Hospital - MUST HAVE D.C. LICENSE

Payrate: $65
