Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine seeks a Registered Nurse for the Labor & Delivery Unit at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC. The RN coordinates patient care across shifts, provides leadership to the nursing team, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary health care team to improve outcomes and safety.

This role requires an ADN with RN licensure, CPR certification, and at least six months of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in nursing (ADN) required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; may start with ADN and matriculate to BSN.
• RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required.
• CPR - Basic CPR upon hire required.
• Minimum six months of nursing experience required.
• Float between FCCU, SCN and L&D.
• Two years of experience in two of the three WIS units preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates care for assigned patients on a shift to promote clinical outcomes.
• Provides direction to team members to promote quality, safety, and excellence in care.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care outcomes.
• Participates in quality improvement and adheres to cost-effective resource use.
• Completes annual requirements and competencies for the patient population and unit.

Unit/Role Info:

Labor & Delivery Unit(18 Labor beds, 8 triage beds and 3 ORs)

The Registered Nurse coordinates care for assigned patients on a shift to promote the achievement of clinical outcomes. Provides direction to other team members to promote quality, safety, and excellence in care. Provides evidence-based practice care based on the nursing process policy, procedures, and protocols. Works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health care team to optimize patient care outcomes. Participates and promotes quality clinical improvement by supporting standards within a given care setting. Practices and promotes responsible cost effective use of resources. Completes all identified annual requirements and competencies for the patient population, care setting, department, and institution. Participates in the performance appraisal process. Demonstrates organizations core values on a consistent basis.

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in nursing (ADN) (Required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (Preferred) and
• Applicants with an associate degree in nursing will be considered. Per nursing guidelines, must matriculate into a Bachelor of Nursing program
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire (Required)

• Minimum six (6) months of nursing experience required
• Float between FCCU, SCN and L&D
• 2 yrs of experience in 2 of the 3 WIS units preferred
