Job summary

Qualifications

Contract

Responsibilities

Provide evidence-based labor and delivery nursing care to patients on site.

Lead and evaluate L&D patient flow to optimize throughput and wait times.

Monitor maternal and fetal status; respond to emergencies with rapid interventions.

Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.

Collaborate with obstetrics team to develop and adjust care plans.

Document care accurately in electronic health records per policy.

Track and report quality metrics and outcomes to leadership.

Participate in simulation drills and continuous education to advance skills.

Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and post-partum expectations.

Mentor junior staff and share best practices to support growth and development.

Demonstrate accountability for personal performance goals within the team.

Experience/Qualifications

Current RN license with active obstetric (L&D) nursing certification.

1-3 years L&D bedside experience maintaining safety and patient throughput.

Ability to monitor fetal/m maternal status and perform rapid emergency interventions.

Proficiency in electronic health records and accurate obstetric documentation.

Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and facility policies (HIPAA, JCAHO).

Lead L&D patient flow, optimize throughput, and reduce wait times.
