Job summary

Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA is seeking an ICU nurse to join a skilled team. You will deliver individualized care using the nursing process, collaborating with colleagues to support patients across the critical care spectrum.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient safety, applying age-appropriate protocols, and participating in day/night/weekend/holiday on-call rotations. IA RN license and critical care certifications are required.

Qualifications

• IA RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications required.
• One year Medical/Surgical or critical care experience preferred; new grads encouraged to apply.
• Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care in the ICU using the nursing process.
• Assume responsibility for the outcomes of nursing care during the shift.
• Collaborate with nursing personnel to deliver total patient care.
• Apply age-related patient protocols addressing physical and psychological needs.

Position Highlights

Spencer Hospital is a rural hospitallocated in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the ICU
• Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period
• Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care
• Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients

Requirements:

• Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems
• IA RN license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC are required - inhouse education available upon hire
• One year of Medical/Surgical preferred or critical care experience
• New grads with a strong desire for critical care are encouraged to apply

Schedule:

• 72 hours a pay period
• Day/Night/Weekend/Holiday Rotation
• 12 hour shifts 6:30-7
• The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
