Description:This position involves working in an Intensive Care Unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.
The unit has 12 beds, and nurses are expected to provide high-quality care to critically ill patients with various diagnoses, including abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain.
Registered Nurses on this unit are required to titrate various medications and actively participate in patient care alongside respiratory therapists who are available 24/7.
Self-scheduling is allowed, and employees must schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts over a six-week period.
Holiday coverage is also expected.
The facility supports block scheduling, and the charge nurse will take an assignment.
There are no aides on this unit, and nurses will need to manage their patient load independently.
Registered Nurses are also required to float within a designated zone based on staffing needs.
The charting system used is EPIC.
