Description:Hiring process involves a candidate interview with the Clinical Team.No involvement from unit management during the interview process.Candidates must provide a valid driver's license for verification.Clinicians should be in-state during the orientation week.This unit accommodates 24 beds and maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain.Registered Nurses are required to titrate various drips, including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, and analgesics.Charge nurses take patient assignments while overseeing operations.Nursing Assistants are not present in this unit; all care is provided by registered nursing staff.A Clientist or Intensivist is in-house to support patient care.Respiratory Therapists are available 24/7 in the ICU for patient support.Equipment used includes CPAP, BiPap, high flow oxygen, and ventilators.This unit does not have Tele/Monitor Techs; nurses must be able to read their own telemetry strips.Self-scheduling and block scheduling options are available for shifts.Weekend work is expected, with staff required to schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts every six weeks.Holiday work requirements are also expected of all staff.Floating requirements are determined by nursing management, with potential floating within the designated zone if an extreme need arises.The dress code for the unit is navy blue scrub color.There is a cancellation policy in place allowing for such occurrences during the assignment duration.Charting is conducted using an electronic system for efficient record-keeping.
