Qualifications

• BSN required; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Illinois; CPR and ACLS certifications required (ACLS within 90 days of hire).
• Minimum of three years of progressive nursing experience, with at least two years in leadership roles; critical care/high-acuity preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, strong communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• The HOA serves as on-duty clinical and operational leader when senior leadership is not on site.
• Oversee hospital-wide clinical operations, patient flow, staffing, safety, and emergency response.
• Exercise independent judgment, interpret/enforce policies, allocate resources, and make real-time decisions.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activity and maintain situational awareness of capacity and needs.
