Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in general and specialized surgeries; ensure trays, instrumentation, and supplies are ready for each procedure
• Provide patient care and support
• Administer medications
• Perform surgical tasks such as controlling bleeding, suturing, draping, tissue handling, and exposure
• Position and prepare the patient on the operating table
• Monitor vital signs and heart rate
• Educate patient and family on operation and aftercare; communicate health status to family
• Perform post-operative assessments; monitor for pain/complications
• Review patient history and health assessments
• Monitor surgical site for healing or infection; participate in research
• Possess ability to scrub and circulate based on unit needs
• Prepare supplies; manage equipment and charging; assist in room turnover
