Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a RN First Assist (RNFA) to support surgeons during a range of operations. The RNFA will perform independent perioperative nursing tasks, collaborate with the OR team, and ensure equipment and supplies are ready for each procedure.

The role emphasizes patient assessment, intraoperative support, post-operative evaluation, and ongoing communication with patients and families. Strong CNOR certification and current RN licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with Board licensure.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) credential.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in general and specialized surgeries.
• Coordinate with OR team for trays, instrumentation, and supplies.
• Administer medications and provide patient care.
• Perform perioperative tasks including bleeding control and suturing.
• Position patient and monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Educate patient and family on operation and aftercare.
