Job summary

Carle Health in Illinois is seeking a Registered Nurse for the NT6 Observation unit to provide acute care for cardiac, general surgery, and behavioral health cases. The 43-bed unit maintains a 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio and a fast-paced, team-oriented culture with strong physician and ancillary collaboration, plus a unit-based educator and charge nurses.

Responsibilities include performing assessments, developing and implementing care plans, documenting care, and ensuring patient and staff

Qualifications

• RN license on hire (state-specific licensure required).
• BLS certification within 30 days of start date.
• Nursing diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided.
• Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care.
• Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
• Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting hazards.
