Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is hiring a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery team in Rio Rancho, NM. The RN will care for expectant mothers, newborns, and families across labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Assess, monitor, and manage the physical and emotional well-being of laboring and postpartum patients.
• Fetal Monitoring: Monitor fetal heart rate and other tests to ensure maternal and fetal health.
• Delivery support: Assist obstetricians and midwives during deliveries including C-sections or emergencies.
• Breastfeeding & newborn education: Provide guidance on breastfeeding and newborn care.
• Medication administration: Administer meds, IV fluids, and epidurals while watching for adverse reactions.
• Emergency readiness: Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies such as hemorrhage or distress.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide exceptional care to expectant mothers, their newborns, and families throughout the labor , delivery , and postpartum stages. This role requires a strong clinical skill set, effective communication, and the ability to respond calmly in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Assess, monitor, and manage the physical and emotional well-being of patients during labor, delivery, and recovery.
• Fetal Monitoring: Perform and interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and other diagnostic tests to ensure maternal and fetal health.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals during deliveries, including assisting with cesarean sections or emergency procedures.
• Provide care and education to new mothers on breastfeeding, infant care, and postpartum recovery.
• Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, and epidurals while monitoring for any adverse reactions.
• Respond quickly to obstetric emergencies, including hemorrhage, fetal distress, or neonatal complications.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
• BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire. Required Certification from either AHA, ASHI, or Red Cross
• NRP
